Mr. Martin Beacon, the proprietor of the Bee's Art and Model Service based in Weybridge, Surrey, obtained permission from Lesney Products to produce a promotional model. Mr. Beacon, a professional model maker, made 500 models which were made available at the Surrey Model Fair and Swapmeet held on the 28th February 1981 in Guildford, Surrey, England.

Livery: (Label) - 'BEE'S - ART AND MODEL SERVICE - 11QUADRANT YARD - WEYBRIDGE SURREY - MARTIN R BEACON - WEY 40470' in black on either side of panel with large black and yellow bumble bee holding a quill pen.

Other Comments/Identifying Features: Models can have either:
1. Yellow body/black ribbed roof/yellow chassis/red 12 spoke WW wheels/black seat/chrome parts.
2. Yellow body/black ribbed roof/gloss black chassis/red 12 spoke WW wheels/black seat/chrome parts.
3. Yellow body/black ribbed roof/yellow chassis/red 12 spoke BW wheels/black seat/chrome parts.

Fakes: Genuine models have a very fine line to the top right-hand wing and slightly thinner overall printing to the label.
The fake has thicker printing, bright yellow label and thick line to right-hand wing edge.
Genuine labels measure 31mm x 18mm and fakes measure 30mm x 17mm.
These fake models have been seen with both black and yellow chassis.
